Hi Chowhounds - We're going to Montreal for our honeymoon and are very, very interested in a gastronomic adventure. We plan to eat at all the lauded places for dinner (e.g., APC, L'Express, Brunoise, La Loie) but want to eat at smaller bakeries and cafes for breakfast and lunch. We love the thought of stepping outside our hotel and having the option of strolling to several outstanding bakeries. (I'm a pain au chocolat nut.) Is the W a good place to stay for this? How about the Le Centre Sheraton? (I have starwood points to spend.) Leaving Starwood points aside, where would you recommend staying in order to maximize the chow worthiness of our stay? Please note - this is not an inquriy about the hotels. Rather this is an inquiry into the chow worthiness of the neighborhoods they're located in. Thanks Chowhounders!
