How hot is too hot? Rogue jalapeño knocked me for a loop!

This weekend, I made candied jalapeño rings. Muy bueno. They taste even better in a taco than they do on their own.

Someone dear to me grew these peppers and shared. When I gave him one the other day, he immediately started hiccuping. And that's what happened first when I ate one of them today. But what happened to next was beyond anything I've ever experienced. I went back to working, then my stomach began to ache. I started sweating fiendishly. I really felt quite sick, so I went to the kitchen to grab a couple of crackers. At some point after that, I fell and hit my head on the wall. Not even sure how. Shortly after that, the stomachache began to subside. Now, I think I'm finished sweating.

In my lifetime of eating hot (spicy) things, this has never happened. Has this happened to any other heat-seekers? I'm now afraid of the rest of my peppers. It's not like you can tell one from another what the heat level is. YIPES!
