So far this season, I think the hot cross buns at Boulange de Fillmore (is that the right name? I refer to the Pascal Rigo bakery) have been the best. Not too sweet, buttery, and not a bit stale. 2nd best: the buns at Il Fornaio bakery. I have been eyeing the buns at Citizen Cake, but they appear a bit dry (on a side note, I've noticed that their cakes have been very dry and stale lately -- I am wondering if they are leaving cakes out in the cases for days on end). Any other good ones? Has any one tried the buns at the recently opened Emporio Rulli in the Marina?
