Horchata de Chufa- Where to Buy Locally

Diana | Aug 14, 2003 12:27 PM

I've seen various discussions on this board about horchata de chufa, a Spanish (from Spain) drink made of the chufa or tiger nut (not rice). I know it can be purchased on, but for a whopping $45 for a case of (12) 1-liter bottles (not including S&H)!! I thought perhaps I could find it cheaper in the DC area, perhaps in a Latin American or Spanish grocery store. Anyone been able to locate horchata de chufa in the area, not including restaurants?
Thanks, in advance
