I've been to the Hops in Greensboro a couple of time so I was happy when I heard the news they would be opening a location in Chapel Hill. Sure, Chapel Hill has a lot of good burger joints already, but in case you weren't aware, Hops was voted the best burger in the US by Tripadvisor a few years ago! I've been to the Chapel Hill Hops a couple of times and it's as good as the one in Gboro. I had the North Carolinian, which came with a fried green tomato, pimento cheese, applewood bacon, and a fried egg. You can choose from 3 patty sizes: 4, 8, and 12 oz. My 8 oz. was actually medium as requested and was more than enough food. Their sides are really great too. I paid the $2 upcharge and went for the onion rings, which came with a light, tempura-like batter. Their beer selection is solid, heavily favoring NC breweries. Given the crowds I've seen while dining there this place is here to stay.
