I hope City Bakery fixes this problem....

I have been a longtime fan of City Bakery. When they were on 17th Street I went at least once a week and basically loved everything I tried.
I haven't been to the new place as often. But a few times I've noticed a recurring problem: FLIES!!
First time it was shortly after Sept. 11 (maybe a month later).. Weather was still hot, doors were open, the neighborhood was still quiet and the city in shock. Two or three flies were all over the croissants. I did not buy anything but did not complain because, well, maybe these were unusual circumstances.
In recent weeks I have been to CB at least five times. I have seen flies over the salad bar and, again, over the pastries. Considering that you never know where a fly has been standing, this is really disgusting.
I have real appreciation for the place, and the fact that they experiment with new veggies, and their pastries are great, and they buy from Greenmarket. But I really think they could control this, and I hope they don't keep going downhill.
