First time there - very good, not transcendent, but I will certainly be back.
Deep fried soft-shell crabs were very good, if a touch greasy. A nice savoriness to the batter, and the flavor of the crab meat stood up really well to it. Fairly large plate - probably three crabs sectioned and fried.
Clams in black bean sauce was very good as well. The sauce was not as salty as I have had other places, and the clams themselves had a meaty richness that made it into the broth. If I wasn't so full of crab, I would have eaten a lot more rice with the sauce.
Steamed chicken dumplings were disapointing - filling was fine, but the skins were more of a gyoza thickness, but kind of tough. As though the dough didn't really rise at all.
I'll return with a larger party and try some more corners of the menu. there is stir-fried mussels with ginger that was enticing. I also saw a couple plates of fried rice go by, and though I am not usually a fan, it smelled very good.
