I'm seeking a special place for a birthday lunch
this Sunday within driving distance of Indy. As it's the height of summer, I'm seeking a place that emphasizes locally-farmed products.
Failing that, I'd like someplace with quirky, homegrown charm. Lucricia's in Chesterton has been described on these boards as an "odd little Italian place." Can anyone elaborate on this?
The current shortlist:
-Bittersweet in Brownstown
-Joe Huber's Family Farm in Starlite
-Pumps in Pines, off US 12
-Bonge's Tavern in Perkinsville (Does anyone know
if they are still closed Sundays?)
I've tried all the places fitting the bill 'round Bloomington and surrounding parts, but if anything has opened in the last year or so, I'd love to know about it.
Any recommendations are appreciated.
