I will be in Hong Kong in October traveling solo. Staying at the Pottinger in Central.
I would be grateful if someone could look at my choices and let me know their thoughts. I am especially concerned if the restaurants I chose will be ok for a solo diner as I am aware that many Chinese restaurants are geared for groups who share many dishes. I still have one lunch and one breakfast open.
A couple of questions. I am looking for a good congee spot that is open for breakfast. I have read that Wong Chi Kee is good but I couldn't find their hours. If they are not open for breakfast does anyone have any suggestions?
Are the eggs and toast at AUS Dairy Co really that mind blowing. It seems to be a long way to go for an egg sandwich but I will go if it really is that good.
How is the beef brisket noodles at Maks or Mak Aun Kee? Would it be advisable to have one bowl of Won Ton Noodles at one of the Maks and then go to Kau Kee or Sister Wah for the beef brisket or have the brisket at one of the Maks?
I understand Tim Ho Wan is open at 9am?
Also, what is the situation with the internet on Mainland China? Do I need anything special to use my iPhone and iPad? Will my charger work or do I need a special plug?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
