Hong Kong Wok in West Palm Beach

Finally tried this place, acting on a long-ago recommendation from my buddy Chef Bob. I'd about given up on finding good Chinese in the West Palm area
(many grim, greasy meals glistening w/cornstach and MSG). But Bob doesn't freely give endorsements and when the Wife and I found ourselves in front of this unprepossessing strip-mall carry-out we had to give it a shot. We gave our order to the 10-year-old kid at the counter, who was speaking to us in English and
yelling at his family in the kitchen in Cantonese. They had at least half a dozen huge woks going, cranking out the Friday night rush. We ordered steamed dumplings, sesame chicken, Hunan beef and House fried rice. The order must have weighed a good
eight pounds and the aromas in the car on the ride home were very promising. The first thing out of the box was the fried rice; dry with no detectable oil. It had nice shrimp, big chunks of pork, chicken, fried egg and vegetables. The dumplings were fat and irregular, filled w/minced pork and slivers of ginger and garlic, obviously hand made. The sesame chicken
was crispy dark meat with a caramelized glaze of honey, orange and chilies (I ordered hot). The beef was good quality (not mysterioso, as sometimes encountered) w/fresh vegetables in a spicy (could have used more heat) gravy. Pretty damn good stuff, all around. The clicher was that the left-overs (and there were plenty) were just as tasty the next day. The Hong-Kong Wok serves mostly Cantonese food and they are located in the Publix shopping center at Community Drive and Military Trail in WPB. There are a couple tables to eat at if it's too far from the house.
