Where should we take our Hong Kong hosts for dinner?

Hello Chowhound,

I'm visiting Hong Kong for five days in September. To thank our friends to letting them stay with them, we wanted to take them out for dinner.

We're looking for a place that feels special enough for a thank you dinner, but not too fancy. More like Ronin, less like 4-star hotel. Since we're visiting Japan later in our trip, I thought this dinner might be better used on something other than Japanese food.

We're all in our late 20s with no dietary restrictions. I'm curious whether there's a modern/hip equivalent of Ronin for Chinese food. (Chinese isn't a must. We're happy to eat any type of cuisine, but just wanted to put that thought that out there.)

Our budget is around $450 HKD per person (before tax, tip, and drinks) and ideally, we want to find a place that takes reservations.

So Chowhound, what do you got?

Thanks in advance!
