Hong Kong Flower Lounge – May Special

Last night I zipped around the Bay Area’s Hong Kong seafood cluster in Millbrae picking up banquet menus at five restaurants to consider for the upcoming Gruner Veltliner wine dinner in June. HKFL is currently offering a special banquet menu in May that we won’t be able to take advantage of. I’m posting it here for others who might be interested in the unusual dishes at a promotion price.

Five Special Appetizers
Soft-shell Turtle Cooked in Two Ways:
Double boiled soup with Chinese herbs
Braised soft shell turtle
Sauteed Thin Sliced Pork with Leek in Chili Bean Sauce
Sauteed Crab with Preserved Salted Egg Yolk
Canadian Chicken Marinated in Supreme Sauce
Sauteed Mustard Green with Garlic in Supreme Broth
Rice with Preserved Chinese Sausage in Clay Pot
Dessert of the Day

$238 per table (10 persons), order in advance, 15% service charge will be added.

This includes some unusual dishes not on the regular dinner menu offered at a promotional price. I’m not sure what the Canadian chicken might be, perhaps this is the black silky type imported that is imported from Canada. This special menu is printed in English and Chinese on a yellow flyer in the entryway.

Of note, the original location of Hong Kong Flower Lounge at 1671 El Camino Real (cross street Park Place) in Millbrae is changing its name to Hong Kong Pavilion shortly. Ownership, management and kitchen will stay the same. They’re changing the name because too many customers get the two locations confused.
