Hong Kong Eatery in Quincy has disappointed more than they've pleased

I've been there 5 or 6 times and hoped they would become my regular but the food has been inconsistent and I'm about to give up on them. Yesterday's order is a good example. I got stir fried spinach with garlic and it was pretty good. But I also got some Teryaki beef and that was just downright bad with an unpleasant taste that stayed with me until I went and used some mouthwash. I can't say exactly but I think the meat was not fresh. Or it might have been the oil they used to cook it.
Oil was definitely a factor in another dish. The squid with salt and chilies was tender and nicely spiced but the flavor of overused cooking oil was quite distinct and made for a disappointing meal. Hot and Sour soup: had it three times, once good, once okay, once bland. I've had some other things as well, Peking Ravs and a stir fried pork dish which weren't that great although they seemed fresh enough.
Bottom line: I can forgive so so cooking but not old cooking oil and meat that seems like it should have been tossed. I'll go back another time or two but if they don't get better that will be it.
