I Think I Found Hong Kong Cake Lady's Replacement!

Kate | Mar 6, 2005 04:16 PM

I know I am not the only person here who misses the Hong Kong Cake Lady on Mosco St. Anyway, today, while walking on Grand St, near Mott, I came across a guy selling the cakes on the street. I suddenly had a craving for it and decided why not. These were the closest thing to the Lady on Mosco St I've ever tasted. I've had the cakes from other street vendors who dilute the batter too much or didn't use enough eggs or sugar so I pretty much gave up on ever finding a respectable replacement. So to my surprise, the ones I had today were great. The guy sells 20 pcs for $1 so it's also a great bargain.

He's located in front of 213 Grand St. @Mott.

Hope this helps those who crave those HK cakes like me!
