Looks like my fiancée and I are postponing our big honeymoon trip til later this year, but we want to do a somewhat local mini-honeymoon instead. We're getting married in Miami so the plan is to stop in New Orleans on the way back (she's never been) for a couple nights, then head to Napa/SF (I've never been) for a few days, then either fly or drive back to LA.
If we drive back to LA, we'll probably make a trip of it...a few nights in Napa/SF, a night in Carmel or somewhere similar, possibly a night in one other city, a day in Santa Barbara (gotta pick up some wine from one of the vineyards we belong to), then home to LA.
Looking for mainly food recs in Napa/SF, but feel free to let me know about places in New Orleans or anywhere from SF south to LA. Any must stops or must stays or anything like that is much appreciated.
Was going to try to make a reservation at French Laundry but realized it's closed. Any other similar suggestions? Any hotel recs around there too? We'll probably stop at the Coppala winery while we're there (we're members) – is that worth staying at?
As for types of food, we're big seafood fans but open to anything. Love fresh seafood, sushi, Chinese, lobster, Vietnamese, Mexican, really anything.
Sorry for all the questions. Again, any help/ideas/suggestions are appreciated.
