honey oranges

Anyone noticed the Honey oranges in Chinatown? These things make fantastic fresh-squeezed OJ and even better Stoli screwdrivers. They are also known as Ponkan. They're a crazy shade of orange and so tasty.

Chinese Honey Orange
Actually a mandarin similar to a tangerine, the Chinese Honey (or Ponkan) is a zipper-skin or kid glove fruit with a distinctly superior flavor. Its sweet, citrus taste is famous among experienced orange growers in Florida. The trees are rare in commercial production due to limb breakage.
