After reading good things about the food at Honey Brown's in Summit I was eager to try it, especially since Southern comfort food is not something that you find too much of in NJ. Sadly, I never got the chance. I reserved a table, specifically requesting one away from the front door since it was a cold night and I would be with my parents, who are elderly get cold easily. They assured me that would be no problem. After an hour on the road we arrived, and were promptly seated directly in front of the door. My father reminded them that we had reserved a table away from the front door. My mother was still in her coat and gloves and was clearly very cold. Their response was to my father, "well things changed since we made your reservation. We had a larger party reserve a table and we needed to make room." Normally a response like this would send me right out the door, but we had travelled a long way, and we had no other place to go, so we asked how long the wait would be for another table, and we were told "take it or leave it, we're booked solid". Needless to say, we chose to leave. I can forgive an off night for bad food, but treatment like this is something I can't forgive. I wish them all the success in the world, but I won't be back.
