turned out sea harbour was just too crowded(what did i expect on a sunday?). so husband and i switched gears. there we were, with only vague snippets of chowhound posts about northern chinese food swirling around my head(lamb, jellyfish, hotpots?). it worked out fine. the waitress was enthusiastic and offered some helpful suggestions. first came a plate of slivered lamb, softened onions, carrot and cumin seed. nicely balanced :sweet vegetables, intensely meaty, punctuated by the oddly gentle cumin. next a cold salad of slivered cucumber, sesame paste(?),cilantro, peanuts tossed w/hot mustard and some thickly cut up translucent noodles(i think it was called a pancake on the menu). this was cool & saucy, w/little spikes of gritty heat. finally, a "meat pie" w/tons of scallion. this was like a juicy dumpling stuffing inside about 2 layers of chinese islamic's bread. meat pie was awesome, just awesome.
i'm looking for more suggestions for visit no. 2. their menu is a bit tricky w/out any headings for the sections.
