I am making my first attempt at homemade vinegar for Xmas gifts for immediate family. I've scanned a few recipes and find that some call for white wine vinegar while others say red wine vinegar. In addition, some recipes call for steeping the seeds in the vinegar for a period of time (1-2 weeks) while another calls for boiling seeds and vinegar. Could anyone tell me what the best method would be (boiling or steeping) and what the best vinegar base would be for the pomegranate? Thanks in advance for your help.
