Tried making marshmallows...the smell of the gelatin was gag-worthy while it was blooming. When the sugar and gelatin was being whipped into marshmallow cream, I could still smell it (much fainter, but it was still noticible). I tasted it and I could taste the gelatin.
Supposedly homemade marshmallows are super good, so does that gelatin smell/taste go away? No one could really claim marshmallows are good when they smell and taste like bone broth! Am I using a bad brand? I have Knox.
Any suggestions on how to make a normal marshmallow/gelatin recipe that doesn't stink?
**I also tried making gummy bears once with the same smell/taste issue. Two separate boxes of the same brand gelatin, Knox.
