Homemade kimchee question

Hi, I started a batch of kimchee way back in September and it's been sitting in a jar in my fridge ever since. None of the spices are in it, but it is pickled. Should I just throw it out and start over, or can I revive it with tons of salt and cayenne? It's worth the post to me, it was a big lovely organic cabbage once.
