Yesterday was my husband's birthday and I made a Paula Deen Coconut Fiasco layer cake. Everyone said it was great.. but I definitely taste cornbread!
Idk what I'm doing wrong but this is like my 3rd cake I've made that Tastes like cornbread. Would over or under creaming the wet ingredients do that? I mixed the dry ingredients in on the lowest setting on my stand mixer til there was still a little bit of dry showing then just folded a few times with my spatula. It was also very dense like cornbread.. idk if that also has to do with under or over creaming or if that's just what it's supposed to turn out like with the poke filling that you let it sit in for a day before frosting.. help me
