Hi all! It is nominations time for the Dish of the Month. This summer’s been a bit sleepy DOTM-wise, so I’d love for us to pick something fun that people will enjoy cooking. Maybe some sort of refreshing drink? An interesting type of salad? What ideas do you all have?
Please remember to read the starred guidelines below about what makes a dish, type your nomination in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, and check the DOTMs from previous years to make sure there’s no overlap using this link:
Nominate and support as many dishes as you like, there is no limit. Nominations will close on July 27th at 6pm Central daylight time when we'll move on to voting.
**What Makes a Dish** A dish is loosely defined as an ingredient and a method of preparation. So while chocolate is not a dish, chocolate mousse is a dish. It doesn’t have to be terribly specific, you don’t have to say “tomatoes chopped and simmered over low heat then puréed and poured into a bowl,” you can just nominate “tomato soup.” For some dishes, both the ingredients and the technique are implied, such as cassoulet or jambalaya.
