I finally tried Home after hearing great things about it.

End result - not so much.

I am wondering if I'm missing something. I went there for Sunday brunch with my boyfriend and both of us were not happy.

Our waitress was surly and kind of snuck in behind you - creating akward conversations that just trailed off as she loomed. Whatever - I'm there for the food.

I ordered the James Beard french toast. It tasted exactly - spot on - like apple crisp/crumble. It should have been a dessert. I ate two bites and left it to get cold.

My boyfriend had a burger that was lackluster. My boyfriend will eat anything and love it - this was the first time in this city that we've had a meal we were unhappy with.

I was also dissapointed that the server never came over to check on us. I wanted to order another entree to replace my dessert french toast and she never appeared. She gave us the check and didn't offer any replacements for the food i clearly didn't touch.

I am wondering what happened here? Did we just catch Home on an off morning? Are there other entrees that are always good?
