holy fries experience

7th generation | Sep 5, 2002 07:41 PM

Tiny little place in Malibu, just a counter and four outdoor table-umbrella-thingies. The gentleman behind the counter makes the fries fresh to order. After the first order, with the burger (nice, but a burger's a burger's a burger to a certain point) I found myself forced to get a second order. Fresh out of the grease and into my hand three minutes later. The only fries I've had (and I admit, my quest has been short) any where nearly as good were at Apple Pan, freshness-wise, but at heart I am a skinny fries person--the ratio of brown crisp stuff to velvety white is more to my taste. And--and this is important and increasingly rare--they actually tasted like POTATOES!
So. I have found perfection, just had to share.
