Need holiday luncheon rec for parents alumni group

Rae | Sep 13, 200512:52 PM

My parents’ alumni group (Jefferson High ’46) have a Christmas luncheon each year and need recommendations. There will be about 10 – 15 76-year olds and they want to be kind of central L.A. located. The last 2 years they met at Taix but don’t want to go there again. They want it in a separate dining room. They mostly live in the central/south L.A. area and don’t want to travel too far. I’m thinking downtown L.A., as far south as Manhattan Beach/Torrance [they’ve been to ClaimJumpers [I know, I know] and don’t want to go that far again, Marina Del Rey on the north/west front. Maybe Culver City? Regular American fare, not too spicy or fancy.

I recently went to dinner with my parents at Engine Co. 28 and they said “no” to that. I think the separate room is upstairs and some of them use canes.

Thanks for whatever help you can give.
