holiday gifts that are easy to ship

madonna | Nov 8, 2005 09:38 PM

i know it sounds a little early, but in my case i need to start planning now. my husband has asked me to make homemade gift boxes/baskets for all his clients and employees. he doesn't want to order from a company because he wants it to have a more personal touch. i really don't have the time for anything too elaborate. i need things that are really superquick and that i can make ahead. especially since i am making large quantities and i have a small kitchen. i need things as simple as possible, popular with most people, so i don't want things too exotic (some of his customers are out in wisconsin, minnesota and rural places). i need things that are not too heavy to ship, so that it won't cost too much or be too fragile. also obviously things that are not perishable. does anyone have experience shipping chocolate covered strawberries? does that have to be overnight? this is what i came up with so far: chocolate dipped spoons, lavender, vanilla and flavored sugars, exotic teas, homemade biscotti, and maybe small jars of jam, but i am nervous with the jars.what do you guys think?
