Hola Che (or "why settle for a hot dog when there is Choripán to be had")

ipsedixit | Jan 27, 201504:57 PM

For those unfamiliar (like me initially), choripanes are popular Argentinian street-food sandwich creations filled with chorizos and topped with chimichurri.

Hence, the name Choripán -- a combination of the words chorizo and pan (bread) -- not unlike the etymology behind American "Spam".

I have no point of reference, as this is my first foray into this delicacy, but the choripán at Hola Che (a quintessential hole-in-the-wall joint in Pacific Beach) is a hot, grilled, heavily condimented sausage in a nice crusty, slightly chewy hoagie-esque roll.

It makes the best hot dog seem like a wiener in need of an extra dose of Viagra.
