Hoffman House Cafe - Geyserville

When going to visit the Locals Tasting Room to pick up my club shipment, I was really looking forward to my sandwich from the deli across the street. Alas, to my disappointment, she didn't show up for work and the deli was closed. As I really didn't want to eat in the Smokehouse, I asked Carolyn @ Locals for a suggestion for a decent sandwich, but nothing fancy. And so, the Hoffman House cafe it was.

Both of us ordered the daily sandwich special - a grilled Salmon fillet club, w/bacon, etc. on sourdough. It was really delicious. Choice of one of 4 sides. I had the salad (in a delicious vinagrette - apple and blue cheese, methinks, with substantial chunks of cheese). The other plate had a creamy tomato soup, which was really tasty, albeit thick enough for pasta. Service was fine, nothing special. The menu looked quite appetizing, especially the breakfast selections. I wouldn't hesitate to return. It would stand up to overpriced Healdsburg cuisine, without any pretention, as I don't need to be "seen", nor "discovered."
