HELP! HK style Beef Stew Noodle Soup (Ngow Lam Mein) in East Bay or SF??

Epicurious In Fremont | Jun 17, 200505:57 AM

Greetings Chowhounds! I have searched through past postings (noodle related), but have not quite found an answer yet. (I apologize if I might've missed the info buried somewhere).

Anyhow, years ago when I was in Hong Kong, I tried a very delicious bowl of Beef Stew Noodle Soup (Ngow Lam Mein--pronounced in Cantonese). The beef (meat from the belly area?) is stewed for a long time in very fragrant spices so it becomes fork-tender and is served on top of noodle soup (the noodles are yellow & skinny with a firm texture). Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I am hoping that someone can recommend a local place for me to try close to Fremont or somewhere in the S.F. Bay Area. Any assistance is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks and I look forward to your responses.
