Today I went to Hong Kong Eatery in Chinatown for the first time. I know this place gets good reviews here and elsewhere, so I need some pointers before I go again. I ordered Noodle Soup with Roast Pork and Chinese Shrimp Dumplings. I got it with wide rice noodles. I thought the soup was kind of flavorless, though the pork was delicious. The two ladies next to me (we were at a shared table) got the same soup but with skinny yellow noodles and some sort of meat, and it must have been beef stock because it was much darker. Also one of them had a dish of chili pepper sauce. Was this the better way to go? What other dishes are particularly good there?
