Hints & Tips for Assembling a Community Cookbook?

MidwesternerTT | Jul 6, 201804:48 PM

Posting this in Home Cooking, since the recipes will be from and intended for home cooks. But it's also a process / media question in that someone (not me personally, thank goodness, although I may volunteer to assist) will need to receive, edit, format, categorize and (hopefully) index the book.

Have you participated in assembling a community cookbook? What sort of a timeline was involved? This project is in the very early planning stages, with hopes to have it available for distribution a year from now -- realistic or a pipe dream?

Edited to add - recipes are expected to be submitted in electronic files, but not sure whether we'll be able to (or even want to) have a template for formatting by submitter or whether we'll need/want to take free-form Word documents and edit them for layout/publication. Advice or experience hints on that?
