Well I've been a resident of Cobblehill for a month now and had my first really medicore/bad dining experience. I've been pretty lucky so far.
Anyway, drove past this place the other day and thought it looked like a pleasant place for brunch. Went by saturday and it was really disappointing.
- terrible service---slow to take drink orders, slow to take menu order, delivered food and slopped a slice of toast over onto the (outdoor so not very clean) table cloth and didn't offer to replace or even acknowledge that it happened (though it was certainly noted) and then took ages to manage to pay and leave.
- Food -- husband had a pretty poor steak & eggs with a pretty revolting looking dried up piece of steak. I had the Mediterranean Eggs which was better in theory. The pita was the sole exception--really tasty. But the rest of the dish just didn't mix well on one plate.
One to avoid...
What a pity--especially when I wandered past Tabac and they had a jazz band playing in the window. How is the brunch at Tabac? Only had dinner/drinks there.
