As someone who dined out in Washington DC for years, something I always appreciated about their restaurant scene was that there was a high-end version of every type of cuisine imaginable. Greek? Komi. Spanish? Taberna del Alabardero or Zaytinya. Indian? Rasika. Italian? I Ricchi. Chinese? Mr. K's (RIP), etc. And on and on. In Boston, I often feel frustrated that there's much high-end ethnic dining. I think we have a slew of places doing new American and gastro-pub and locavore quite nicely, and our fare share of proper American spots, and tons of wonderful, small neighborhood places. But I wish there were more Big Nights Out across ethnicities. What say ye?
