Was able to make it here Tuesday at noon. My friend was first to spot the Pit BBQ - 1/4 mile sign heading northbound on Rt. 309. Immediately, the aroma of hickory smoke permeated the air.
We pulled in and took in the smell. Me and my friend each ordered a BBQ pork sandwich and a chicken leg quarter. Meat and sauce was as described in previous posts. Good smoke flavor and a sweet, vinegary BBQ sauce.
Did talk to the owner, David Oliver, who was very enthusiastic to talk to us and gladly answered all our questions. What shocked me was the fact that he cooks 60 lbs of ribs per day.
If you can, make the trip. It's well worth it. Gotta try the ribs next time I stop by.
