Hey, Connecticut! What's new and consistently delicious?

I found some new spots this year that impressed and kept me coming back for more.

Here are the hits:
Dere Street (Newtown)--I even like their "posh fish & chips"--and I don't care for it anywhere else! Sticky toffee pudding, killer drinks, so many appetizers and specials and if only I lived closer ...
Redneck Gourmet Donuts (Higganum)--so many varieties, so little time, such nice people. Hoping the new owners continue Jeff and Debbie's great work.
Po's Rice & Spice (East Hampton)--fresh, tasty, a little something different, especially a bargain for lunch
Scotties Frozen Custard (Colchester)--my favorite ice cream find of the year. I am soooo stuck on their salted caramel. DIVINE!
K2 (New Haven)--creative drinks, tasty fare from Chinese to Thai to sushi. Definitely wish this was closer. :)
And in the "new to me, but not new" category--Lucky Lou's (Wethersfield)--I ate my way through most of the menu in at least a dozen visits and was never disappointed, NOT ONCE.

And the misses:
Herd (Middletown)--drinks and dessert are fab; other menu options (banh mi, chicken sandwich) were disappointing and not on the same level as previously mentioned drinks and dessert.
Vero Cucino Rustico (M'town)--great bread, great figs; falls down hard elsewhere on the menu due to a lack of consistency (burned food, oversalted dishes, overcooked chicken).
Shanks (Clinton)--great fried fish sandwich or taco, fantastic view, the list of high notes stops there.

What were YOUR highs and lows? Chaka Khan sang it perfectly: "Tell me somethin' good!"
