Sat. was the perfect nite for outdoor dining and as we suspected, the city was fairly empty so no wait for a table. Things had cooled off pleasantly at 8:30, a refreshing Henrietta's grehound hit the spot ($8). I think cointreau was the added flavor in that. Friend had a huge spinach salad w/ beets and goat cheese and salmon for an entree. I had the special of mahi mahi which was nicely sauteed and served on mushrooms and bacon with swiss chard ($19). Got a side of hash browns which I don't think were hash browns proper but nice and crisp on the outside and only $4.50. Service was decent. He waited too long to ask us about dessert tho cuz I might have been in the mood for a taste of something (choc. bread pudding's on the menu) but by the time he brought a menu, my meal had settled and there was no way.
Sat at the bar at West on Centre St. in W. Roxbury Sun. evening for lamb burger stuffed w/ goat cheese and a bacon cheese burger ($8 and 9). I asked for some sliced onion but he brought caramelized onions which was tasty altho I like mine a little more done. And the goat cheese wasn't super obvious but a nice flavor twist on a good brioche bun. Fries were excellent. Got some fancy refreshing drinks for $8 each. Dining room was rather quiet but the bar was jumping with a fairly townie crowd, bartenders were nice guys. Pizzas looked really good and the steak w/ mashed potato and caramelized onion may be on the agenda next time.
