Just went for lunch and i am so full i can barely get back to work, but here is a brief synopsis of what was available, (let me just say now, that ALL of it was delicious and well worth the 9.95 price.)
Pan fried sugar pumkin: this was my favorite, sweet and cooked to squishy squash like perfection with some sort of cheese like item on top, but it wasn't a runny cheese, it was more like mexican queso (that hard cheese, like ricotta salata) and it was salty and tasty and balanced out the sweetness of the pumkin really well. i had 2 helpings.
Chicken Curry: close to a Tikka Masala, but more flavorful and the sauce was almost tart.
Lamb curry : this was an excellent curry stew with lots of tomatoes and onions and stewed lamb, mmmmm. i mixed this one up with the pomegranite like sauce they had, so good.
Breaded Eggplant slices in a tomatoe sauce: this one had lots of butter mixed in with the sacue and was excellent, since i love eggplant.
Dal : standard stewed lentils, but the flavor was very nice and light (definetely had some cardommam going on) and rounded out my plate well
Spinach with tomatoes : i didn't really see or taste any tomoatoe, but the spinach was good.
2 soups : a lamb and vegtable soup and a lamb and yogurt and chickpea soup (i had the latter) it was good, but a lot of yogurt and lemon flavors going on which was a little to tart for me.
the cucmber yogurt salad was heavy on the cilantro, so if you like cilantro, then i would say it was excleent, but i hate cilantro, so it tasted like soapy yogurt to me.
crepes stuffed with scallions and spinach (one vegetarian style and one not) the one that was not vegetarian was topped with a kibbeh like item of ground lamb with parsley and cilantro and the likes....
I didn't try these cause my plate had too much on it by the time i got there.
Kourma (i think that is what the sign said) although these were more like grilled meat balls and they were AWESOME. very flavorful.
chiken kebab : grilled chicken breeast with grilled peppers, onions and tomatoes. The chicken was actually tender and juicy and not totally overcooked and dried out like other kebab i have had. The seasoning was pretty light. nothing to spicy or overwhelming.
needless to say, i ate to much and i can't remember if i am forgetitng anything, oh wait! there was also a stewed okra with tomatoes, but i didn't try any of that cause again, i was too full.
there was also salad and flat bread.
hghly recommend you try it if you are in the neighborhood.
