Heavenly Pancakes in Central Oregon

My client in Prinville (40 miles from Bend) to a local hangout for breakfast. It's called Dad's Place. It immediately off the main drive, right next to the local mens clothing store right smack in the middle of town. It was a simple restaurant, nothing fancy about it, it was packed with people that know one another. My client recommended the pancakes, it was their specialty. I ordered the short stack with eggs and sausage, in other words, nothing out of the ordinary. Frankly, I am not a pancake fan, but what the heck. The food came out quickly and piping hot. Appearance wise, these pancakes were thin, almost like a thickened crepe. I couldn't believe my first bite, there was something definitely different. I took my second bite without any syrup. The pancakes had a very distinct and extremely pleasant flavor and texture. It is really something that should very difficult to describe, but all I know was I needed more. The owner of the restaurant explained to me that the pancakes were made out of sour dough batter and he mixed in 7-Up with it. I was surprised how it all turned out. Dad's Place essentially is a must stop every time I visit Central Oregon. The people are friendly and the food is out of this world, by the way, did I mention you should order the pancakes?
