Was looking at the ingredients labels on some of the kosher products that I bought recently for the New Year, and was shocked to find that many of the best known brands of Kosher Matzohs, soup mix, etc... contain trans-fats ( ie: partially hydogenated oils) , that scientists claim as one of the most dangerous, artery clogging additives. Yes, they are in almost all processed foods, kosher or not!!
While Kosher does not necessarily equate with healthy, I was still disappointed, as I thought stricter standars apply ( and trans-fats weren't around when kosher laws were created!!!!)
Very disappointed as well to find "trans-fats" in my Ben and Jerry's all natural ice cream
