Heading for Hong Kong in February: Attn. Charles Yu

PH Rodgers | Nov 24, 201902:55 PM     3

My wife and I will be in Hong Kong for four nights, returning for the first time in many years. We will have the opportunity to enjoy perhaps three dinners and five lunches. I have been reading the posts here, especially those from Charles. Thank you!

With the help of the concierge at our hotel (the Intercontinental), I have booked a lunch (presumably dim sum) at the Yan Toh Heen and a dinner at The Chairman. We also asked for dinner reservations at Ye Shanghai and Fooklore. The concierge booked Ye Shanghai, but warned that the restaurant was planning renovations and might be closed. He could not book Fooklore as they are currently closed, also for renovations. Charles, do you have another Shanghai-style restaurant to recommend, if Ye Shanghai turns out to be closed? And in lieu of Fooklore, what do you suggest? Lei Garden? Mott 32? Seventh Son? The Peking Garden? And can just two of us handle the Peking duck there, together with a few other dishes?

We will look for more dim sum and some of the barbecue places for our remaining lunches, starting, I think, with Tim Ho Wan, Kam’s Roast Goose, Lei Garden and perhaps Above and Beyond in the Icon Hotel. Thoughts? And thanks in advance.
