Harry's Roadhouse in Santa Fe - review

In a word, wow-ee-wow!

In a paragraph:
Lunch at Harry's was an experience that I will not soon forget, nor will I even regret "giving up" one potential meal at Bobcat Bite to eat instead at Harry's. I was lured in by the promise of many tempting entrees and homemade ice cream sandwiches for dessert. My tastebuds were won over with grilled salmon tacos, served Baja style with shredded cabbage on soft corn tortillas. The pieces of salmon were flaming pink and cooked medium-well, so they were tender and juicy - YUM! My side salad was extremely tasty but over-dressed (a common complaint with me as I like my salads rather dry, so take that with a grain of salt...), and my companion had a very good green chile cheese burger with hand-cut and delicious french fries. BUT, I was completely smitten with the chocolate peanut butter ice cream sandwich. Served as a 3"x3" square cut on the diagonal into 2 pieces, it is essentially rich chocolate-PB ice cream (homemade? don't know...) in a 1.5" layer, lovingly contained by 1/4" thick brownie sandwich slices. HEAVEN, HEAVEN, HEAVEN. For $3.50 it was the perfect size of dessert for 2 people - not too filling and richly satisfying. I am STILL fantasizing about it.... wow.

Thumbs up for Harry's! And I didn't even order a daily special, which I hear are *always* fantastic....
