Everybody interested in innovative and delicious cuisine should give Harrisburg a second thought.
Harrisburg, under Mayor Stephen Reed, has undergone a true renaissance in the past 4 or 5 years. Gone are the squalid and dank streets of my youth. Mayor Reed has given the center-city area of Harrisburg a B-12 shot of economic prosperity, and with it, a number of new restaurants have blossomed. The downtown area is bustling with some really fantastic restaurants. Best of all, being in Harrisburg, the prices are very reasonable.
This commentator, on a teacher's salary, has only had the opportunity to sample a few of the many new restaurants in town: Stock's on 2nd, Fisaga, Sammy's on 3rd (to name a few), but I have been impressed with each experience.
I would be interested in hearing about other reader's experiences in Harrisburg restaurants!
