Some friends and I went to a relatively new ethiopian place in town that some of you might be interested in. Harrars is much smaller in size than Dukem, and doesn't offer as nice of an ambiance, but the food got strong reviews from all three of my colleagues. The two Ethiopian-food veterans in the group said they thought the ingera wasn't as tangy/fermented as they would have liked, and the salad was somewhat tasteless, but otherwise indicated the food was quite good, with a nicer staff than they usually get a Dukem. If you go, be forewarned: the food is more heavily spiced than Dukem (my mouth is still burning). Also, they are a smaller operation, so food takes a little longer to prepare, and the menu is limited (and I think changes sometimes . . . not sure).
Anyway, for those interested, Harrars is on Washington Blvd (the 800 block), two blocks west of MLK.
