Harold's Omelettes in Thousand Oaks - Mexican

snackish | Jul 14, 200502:02 AM     1

Imagine my surprise when I found myself eating a delicious plate of nopalitos sauteed with peppers at Harold's House of Omelettes on Thousand Oaks Boulevard today.

A friend had kept telling me that the Mexican food there was fabulous. I scoffed. But he was right.

The place looks like your typical American greasy-spoon breakfast joint, but apparently a Mexican family bought Harold out a few years back and expanded the menu.

In addition to American breakfast, lunch and dinner, they have all kinds of tacos, tortas, chiles rellenos, etc.

It was a nice surprise. Across from the Valero station in a little ugly strip mall.
