It seems that Korean food has been getting a bit of press lately - and what God awful, insipid coverage it has been. I am currently all a jitter at the frightful prospect of fashionable types descending en masse in search of "TRENDY" "HEALTHY" nibbles. How remarkable that semi-informed "experts" presume to present such a diverse, complex, history-rich cuisine with two words that, lets face it, run far down the list of reasons to seek out food, glorious food. Korea Town is positively chock-full of mind-blowingly unbelievable, absolutely extraordinary grub. If your experience there has been limited to Soot Bull Jeep you are seriously missing out. Soot Bull Jeep and Yong Susan are not the only restaurants in Korea Town. And FYI BCD Tofu House has possibly the worst version of soon tofu available. Where are you chow hounds? Venture forth and root out the good stuff! Those concerned with segregated smoking areas, those who demand set and specific standards of service, those who object to a fantastic use of chilli paste that may require them to sacrifice a few hours the following morning in their bathroom, those who do not drink and those in search of "healthy" "trendy" mouthfuls, will not enjoy the true Korea Town. Everyone else? I'll
see ya at Da Sung Sa.
