I have to admit I haven't been coming here as regularly as I used to because of business travel. When travelling, I used to keep up w Chowhound on my iPad but the much-reported and still-unaddressed "bouncing" text issue drove me away from that medium.

Now I returned to the site using my Macbook and it's as though something horrible has happened....the site looks like someone took all its bits and pieces, poured them into a blender, gave then a good whizz then just poured them out randomly onto the page.

There seems to be be black and white icons littered about everywhere. Is the text and background much sharper now...the black is so dark against the white it has a blurred appearance and hurts my eyes. Didn't we have this issue before...

I thought I'd check out Site Talk and I did find an incredibly long thread here but it's so difficult to read. Aside from the stark presentation, the blue font runs into the black font and I can't even see the first few words of a post (photo below).

I have no idea where to look for the "stickies" we used to have on the Home Cooking Board for COTMs & DOTMs. Why take those away? (again...right?) I thought the purpose of those being in a prominent position was to attract new posters...

Everything just seems unnecessarily cluttered and complicated.

We just went through an overhaul of our internal website at work. The purpose was to simplify and enhance user experience. I thought that seemed to be a trend on the web but it's definitely not the case here.

I can't help but wonder...if it feels this difficult for someone who has spent a lot of time here, what are the odds someone new will stick around to sort everything out. This is definitely not an intuitive site.

What a shame.
