Partner took to check out the Harbord Room last night. It has an excellent, causal Montreal bistro vibe to it. The menu is fairly eclectic but a friend had raved about the burger so we both ordered that to see what the fuss was about. What was served was one of the best burgers I'd ever had..
Served on a Fred bun, the fresh ground chuck is offered at medium but according to server can be adjusted to preference. The cooked burger was served a perfect, juicy medium just on the verge of medium-rare with a very pink centre. There was melted cheddar on top and a thin layer of mayo on the bottom, and again super juicy patty. It also came with some ecellent frites and fresh ketchup that had tarragon spicing. There was also a small salad which was ok but kind of forgettable compared to the rest of the plate.
This is not a quick grab burger so decided not to add to the best burger in TO thread. But priced around $14 for the level of quality we got was well well worth it. The baked-to-order chocolate cake dessert was also super tasty. I really want to check out the rest of the menu next time but would have a hard time straying from the show stopping burger I had last night!
