Near the bottom of Solano, Happy Produce, with new owners, has taken some time to get going, but it's finally ready (or almost). The meat counter has opened. I bought some well-priced halal chicken breast yesterday. There was fish and shrimp, but it's not going to replace Tokyo Fish Market any time soon. There's also milk and cheese, now. The space has been opened up and is clean and bright.
The owner/manager is very open to suggestions. There's a bit of organic produce here and there, but with encouragement he might add more. I asked about ground meat -- he said he hadn't set up the grinder yet, but he would soon.
I've been in there half a dozen times and have always been the only customer. On my first few visits, there were still empty bins, but now it's worth a stop if you're in the area.
