Last week I dropped in during happy hour (M-F, 3-6pm) at Cook Tavern in St. Helena. The fruity and floral Fort Point KSA helped wash off the heat of the day.
The crispy fish taco was great. Crunchy corn meal batter encasing fresh rock cod cooked on point, a drizzle of chipotle aioli, and crisp marinated red cabbage hit the spot. The thick tortilla was bit gummy, but overall, I was happy. I also liked the fried pickles. The pickled veggies are housemade and included strands of onions as well as cucumber, served with a basil dipping sauce. A huge serving, and I was sorry that I did not have someone to share these with.
Very friendly service, good air-con, I'd go back.
